Manchester United star in loan agreement with Sevilla
It was only a matter of where Hannibal would go on loan from Old Trafford in January as he found his opportunities this season to be limited.
Sevilla has been leading the battle to sign him, and even though Everton made a late inquiry, it’s said that both United and the player would rather relocate to Spain.
According to The Athletic, negotiations between the two teams are moving forward, but it won’t probably be finalised until after the weekend. This might mean that the 20-year-old will be able to play on Sunday against Tottenham.
Most intriguingly, though, is the rumoured inclusion of a buyout option in the contract, which may spell the end for Hannibal’s tenure with the Red Devils.
The Premier League team stands to gain a significant financial advantage from the player should the clause be activated. The Tunisian international joined United from Monaco in 2019 for an estimated £8.6 million.
But if the move is made permanent, Hannibal’s contract with United has a buy-back clause, so his time at Old Trafford may yet have another chapter to write.
Although United think highly of their youngster, they also know that first-team opportunities will be difficult to come by.
