Francesco Bagnaia Faces San Marino GP with Injuries After Aragon Crash

Francesco Bagnaia, who suffered a severe crash during the MotoGP Aragon GP after a collision with Álex Márquez, heads into the San Marino GP nursing physical injuries. Despite being 23 points behind the championship leader, Bagnaia views the upcoming race as crucial in his pursuit of the title.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the San Marino GP, Bagnaia detailed the lingering effects of the crash: “Physically, I’m not at 100%. I feel a lot of pain in my shoulder

, collarbone, and neck, but we will try to be ready. It’s my home Grand Prix, and racing in front of all the fans here is always fantastic. I ride a lot on this track, so I’ll do my best to be ready.”

When asked to describe his physical condition in more detail, the Ducati rider admitted that the injuries have limited his mobility: “Honestly, the physical conditions are not ideal.

I don’t feel like I can move my body the way I want, but it’s normal after such a huge impact. I had 170kg on my shoulder, and the hit on the gravel was quite heavy. Fortunately, there are no broken bones, but the muscles and ligaments are suffering.”

The 2022 and 2023 champion also highlighted the importance of every remaining race in the season, especially after losing valuable points in Aragon: “Every weekend is critical for the championship.

We arrived in Aragon with just a three-point gap, but we left with a 23-point deficit, so it was a big loss. This weekend, it’s important to do a good job. If I can recover some points, I’ll give it my all. If not, I’ll try to minimize the damage. It’s a super important weekend, just like the rest.”

Despite his physical setbacks, Bagnaia remains determined to push through the pain at his home Grand Prix, knowing that every race is pivotal in his bid for a third consecutive world title.
