MR Fish, A Night of Resilience and Unacceptable Behavior: A Message from the Stage in Brussels
Tonight, I find myself in Brussels, taking a much-needed moment to reflect on what was a difficult yet ultimately triumphant evening. It’s a day off, a pause in the whirlwind tour, and I’m still processing the events of the night before in Berlin. To say that it was a challenging show would be an understatement, but it was also a reminder of the incredible dedication and spirit of the people who support us every night.
A Night of Technical Struggles, But We Delivered
Last night’s performance in Berlin was nothing short of testing. The technical issues we faced were completely out of our control, but that didn’t stop my incredible crew from going above and beyond to ensure the show went on. Despite being well beyond the scheduled time and running into strict audio curfews that cut our set by three songs, we still managed to deliver a 90-minute show—a feat made possible by our crew’s resilience and commitment.
Yes, it wasn’t exactly what we had planned or wanted, but the fact that we managed to perform at all is a testament to the hard work and professionalism
Unacceptable Behavior: An Attack on Our Crew
However, what occurred during the show—something completely out of our control and utterly unacceptable—has left me both outraged and disheartened. One of our sound techs, Louise, who was working tirelessly to fix issues behind the scenes, was physically attacked by a drunken fan. This person punched her in the face, all because they were upset over the delay.
What is truly horrifying is that this incident occurred in full view of others, some of whom were in the first balcony, and witnessed this attack unfold. I’m grateful to those fans who stepped up and offered help, but this situation should never have happened in the first place.
To whoever did this: You should be utterly ashamed of your actions. There is absolutely no excuse for such behavior. No one—whether they’re working backstage or in the crowd—deserves to be subjected to violence or intimidation.
Taking Action
I’m reaching out to everyone who might have information about this individual. If you were at the show and either witnessed the incident or took photos or videos, please get in touch with me privately. I am fully committed to taking action against this person, as their behavior is completely unacceptable on every level.
I want to make it clear that this is not just about protecting our team or the people working behind the scenes. This is about setting the standard that violent behavior has no place in our community. Whether you’re part of the crew, an artist, or a fan, we should all be able to share the same space in a respectful and safe environment.
Gratitude to the Crew and Fans
To end on a positive note, I want to again express my deepest gratitude to my crew, especially Louise, for their unwavering dedication and professionalism. And to the fans who showed their support and helped in any way they could: your energy and loyalty mean the world to us. Last night may not have gone exactly as planned, but we pulled through, and I’m proud of what we accomplished despite everything.
As we move forward, let’s remember that we’re all here for the music. Let’s respect each other, support one another, and make this tour a celebration of everything that makes live music so special.
To those who would resort to violence: your actions are not welcome in our community, and I will do everything in my power to ensure you are held accountable.
Thank you again to everyone who continues to make this journey unforgettable. Onward to the next show!
