Grigor Dimitrov, Bulgaria’s highest-ranked tennis player, concluded the 2024 season with a notable achievement: he finished at No. 10 in the ATP rankings, marking another milestone in a distinguished career.
The updated rankings, released on Monday following the last ATP tournament of the year, confirmed Dimitrov’s place among the world’s top 10 for the first time since 2017. That year, he enjoyed his career-high ranking of No. 3 after winning the prestigious Nitto ATP Finals.
Dimitrov’s 2024 performance was consistently strong, underscoring his longevity and competitiveness on the ATP Tour. While he did not win a Grand Slam title or a major tournament in the season, his consistent results and steady play kept him within the elite ranks of men’s tennis. In fact, Dimitrov finished the year with a total prize money earnings of USD 3,186,056, ranking 11th in the ATP for 2024.
This marks Dimitrov’s eighth season finishing in the ATP Top 20, an impressive feat considering his 17 years on the tour. Of the active players in men’s tennis, only Novak Djokovic has achieved this more times, with 19 seasons spent in the top 20.
