Eli Tomac Provides Injury Update 3 days After Surgery: “I Can Feel My Bones Healing”
Eli Tomac, the eight-time AMA Supercross and Motocross Champion, has provided an encouraging update on his recovery after suffering a broken fibula at the 2025 Tampa Supercross. On February 8, 2025, during the qualifying rounds, Tomac initially believed he had sustained a less severe injury, such as an ankle sprain and bruised calf. However, after two days of persistent pain, medical scans revealed the extent of the injury: a fractured fibula.
Despite the injury, the resilient champion pushed through the pain to compete in the main event later that day. Tomac’s determination and tenacity were on full display as he finished 17th, scoring five crucial points. However, as the days passed, it became clear that the injury would sideline him for the upcoming rounds of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series.
Tomac underwent surgery soon after the diagnosis, and in a recent update, he shared positive news about his recovery. “It’s been a few days since the surgery, and I’m already feeling the bones starting to heal,” he wrote. “The recovery process is tough, but I’m staying positive. Every day, I’m one step closer to getting back on the track, and I can’t wait to race again. I appreciate all the support from my fans, team, and everyone who has been behind me through this.”
Tomac’s injury has put a pause on what many hoped would be a competitive 2025 season for the veteran rider. His absence has inevitably shifted the championship standings,
As of now, the timeline for Tomac’s full recovery remains uncertain, but his optimistic outlook and the early signs of healing offer hope that his return could be sooner than expected. Fans eagerly await the moment when the champion will once again line up at the starting gate, ready to give it his all.
In the meantime, Tomac continues to focus on his rehabilitation, confident that with time, rest, and hard work, he will soon be back doing what he does best—competing at the highest level of Supercross and Motocross.
