Congratulations as Dodge/SRT and Tony Stewart Racing Extend Partnership for NHRA Success
In a move that solidifies their commitment to the sport of drag racing, Dodge/SRT and Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) announced a multi-year extension of their partnership on Friday, continuing a successful collaboration in the NHRA Mission Drag Racing Series. This extension builds on the strong foundation established in 2022 and signifies a shared vision for further success in the world of drag racing, particularly with TSR’s Top Fuel and Funny Car entries.
Since the partnership began, it has already proven to be highly fruitful, with TSR securing an impressive 16 NHRA national event victories. Of those wins, 13 came in the Funny Car category with driver Matt Hagan, while Top Fuel driver Leah Pruett contributed three wins. TSR’s collaboration with Dodge/SRT was particularly sweet in 2023 when the Funny Car World Championship was claimed by Matt Hagan, marking a major achievement in the team’s racing history.
For Tony Stewart, this partnership has added another layer to his already distinguished racing career. A three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and one-time NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing champion as an owner, Stewart’s presence in the NHRA continues

Dodge//SRT and the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) team announced today a new multi-year extension in its long-standing partnership to field entries in the two nitro-burning divisions – Top Fuel and Funny Car – in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Mission Drag Racing Series.
to grow. Currently in his second year racing in the Top Fuel class, Stewart took over the seat of his wife Leah Pruett’s dragster at the start of the 2024 season. Though he’s still chasing his first Top Fuel victory, Stewart’s accomplishment last season of winning the North Central Division Top Alcohol championship proves his growing prowess in the world of drag racing.
With this continued partnership, TSR will field both Stewart and Hagan in 2024. Hagan, who has been with Dodge/SRT since 2007, is entering his 18th season in the Funny Car class. Hagan’s impressive career includes breaking several NHRA barriers, including being the first Funny Car driver to break the four-second barrier in 2011 (3.995 seconds), the first to hit 330 mph (2015), and the first to break the 335 mph mark (2016). Hagan’s history with Dodge is a testament to the brand’s commitment to success, having earned 52 NHRA Funny Car national event wins and four World Championships behind the wheel of a Dodge/SRT machine.
Both Stewart and Hagan expressed their enthusiasm for the continued partnership with Dodge/SRT, Mopar, and Direct Connection, highlighting the integral role these sponsors have played in TSR’s success.
“To have racing partners like Dodge/SRT, Mopar, and Direct Connection has been a great asset for our TSR team, as well as the entire drag-racing sport,” Stewart said. “It’s important to have strong OEM support in all forms of motorsports, and we are so excited to continue our involvement with the Dodge brand and Direct Connection on our Top Fuel dragster and Funny Car. I’m very appreciative of their support and looking forward to a great future with them in the winner’s circle.”
Hagan shared similar sentiments, saying, “I’m so pumped up with Dodge/SRT extending its partnership with Tony Stewart Racing. It’s awesome to have the sustainability with such great sponsors like Dodge, Mopar, and Direct Connection. I am very excited about what our future holds with Dodge. This is my 18th season driving a Dodge/SRT Funny Car, and it’s great to have them supporting what we do.”
In his 18 years with Dodge, Hagan has built a championship legacy. His success with the brand continues to be a source of pride for his family, as his dealership has been a part of the Dodge community for over 50 years. “We can race on Sunday and sell on Monday,” Hagan said, emphasizing the deep connection between his professional racing career and his family’s longstanding ties to the brand.
The announcement of the extension came during the season-opening NHRA event in Gainesville, Florida, where TSR and Dodge/SRT were poised to continue their dominance in the NHRA Mission Drag Racing Series. The future is bright for Tony Stewart Racing, with a powerhouse lineup in both the Top Fuel and Funny Car categories, and their extended partnership with Dodge/SRT promises even greater success on the horizon.
For Stewart and Hagan, the journey is far from over. With continued support from Dodge/SRT, Mopar, and Direct Connection, TSR is primed for more championships, more records, and more historic moments in the NHRA. The race to the winner’s circle is on, and Tony Stewart Racing, with its multi-year partnership extension, is ready to make history.
