Crypta Announces Third Studio Album Veins of Oblivion, Set for July 2025 Release Featuring New Singles “Serpent Throne” and “Ashes Reborn”
Brazilian death metal juggernaut Crypta has officially announced the release of their highly anticipated third studio album, titled Veins of Oblivion, set to drop in July 2025. The announcement was made via the band’s official social media channels alongside a teaser video that sent fans across the globe into a frenzy.
Following the critical acclaim of their 2023 sophomore album Shades of Sorrow, Veins of Oblivion promises to be an even darker, more aggressive, and emotionally layered project. According to the band, the upcoming record explores themes of isolation, spiritual decay, and rebirth through fire—both metaphorically and sonically.
Leading the album’s rollout are two powerful singles: “Serpent Throne”, a blistering, thrash-infused track with intricate riffing and venomous growls, and “Ashes Reborn”, a slow-burning epic that builds into a relentless storm of blast beats and atmospheric layers. Both tracks have been praised by early reviewers for pushing Crypta’s sound forward while staying true to their extreme metal roots.
Frontwoman Fernanda Lira shared her thoughts on the new direction:
“This album is the result of two years of personal and collective transformation. We poured our chaos, our rage, and our healing into this. Veins of Oblivion is not just an album—it’s a purge.”
Produced by Otto Heinonen and mixed by Arthur Rizk, the album was recorded in both São Paulo and Los Angeles, giving it a truly international edge. The band’s signature intensity remains intact, but with even more dynamic song structures, layered guitars, and diverse vocal executions.
The album artwork, which features a surreal image of a crowned figure dissolving into fire and stone, was created by acclaimed visual artist Eliran Kantor, known for his work with Testament and Kreator. It reflects the central idea of power decaying into nothingness and the struggle for self-definition in a world of shadows.
Crypta’s lineup—Fernanda Lira (bass, vocals), Luana Dametto (drums), Tainá Bergamaschi (guitar), and Jéssica di Falchi (guitar)—is said to have grown even tighter in both chemistry and technical prowess. Their recent live shows have already debuted snippets of new material, drawing immense crowd reaction.
With Veins of Oblivion, Crypta is not only cementing their status as one of the fiercest acts in modern death metal—they’re forging a legacy. Pre-orders for the album, along with special edition vinyls and merchandise, are expected to launch later this month.
