A review statement from the both Ducati team as it becomes a positive Friday for the Ducati Lenovo Team at Silverstone: Francesco Bagnaia is third, followed by Enea Bastianini in fourth place
Ducati Lenovo Team Shows Strong Start at British Grand Prix
The Ducati Lenovo Team made a promising start at the Monster Energy British Grand Prix as Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini secured third and fourth positions, respectively, in today’s practice session at the Silverstone Circuit.
Francesco Bagnaia, who finished eighth in the earlier free practice session, demonstrated impressive form in the afternoon practice.
Despite frequent changes in the top positions and fierce competition from other riders, the reigning world champion managed to lead in the initial stages of the session
Enea Bastianini, who was sixth in the morning session, faced a minor technical issue early in the afternoon but quickly recovered. After a brief delay, Bastianini climbed to first place and eventually finished fourth.
His final quick-lap effort secured him a direct entry into tomorrow’s Qualifying Two, scheduled for 11:15 local time (GMT +1). The ten-lap sprint race, the tenth of the season, will take place later the same day at 15:00.
Bagnaia reflected on his performance, stating, “I think we can be satisfied with how things went today. This is one of my favorite tracks, but I’ve always struggled on opening day, so this was the best Friday we’ve had here so far.
We’re still missing something; the bike is a bit nervous, so we need to make some adjustments. I’m happy with the time attack, even though I wasn’t using the hard front tyre, which I prefer.
With cooler temperatures expected tomorrow, it was crucial to test the medium option. Jorge (Martín) seems to have an edge in the third sector, so we need to analyze that.”
Bastianini expressed satisfaction with his performance, noting, “It was a positive day. I felt comfortable with the base setup right away. Although we had an issue with the first bike, I quickly adapted with the second one and was competitive.
We decided not to use the harder front option despite suitable temperatures. Looking back, it might have been beneficial. Nevertheless, I’m pleased with our performance and being in Q2. Tomorrow, we’ll need to make another small improvement to fight for a spot on the front row.”
As the Ducati Lenovo Team gears up for the upcoming qualifying session and sprint race, the early performance bodes well for a strong showing at Silverstone.
