Alex Barros reveals what Valentino Rossi told him he will help Francesco Bagnaia do to Marc Marquez this 2025 on track

 

Former MotoGP racer Alex Barros has revealed that Valentino Rossi is prepared to support Francesco Bagnaia “in every way possible” as Bagnaia gears up for a challenging 2025 season with Ducati. This comes in light of the recent major shake-up in the MotoGP rider market, where Marc Marquez is set to join Bagnaia at the factory Ducati team.

The 2025 season promises to be highly charged, as the anticipated dynamics between Bagnaia and Marquez are likely to be fraught with tension. The VR46 camp

has expressed dissatisfaction with Ducati’s decision to not promote Jorge Martin to the factory team, a move that seems to have deepened the rift between Rossi and Marquez.

In a conversation with Motosan at the Sao Paulo World Endurance Championship round, Barros shared insights from his recent meeting with Rossi. According to Barros, Rossi is resolute about assisting Bagnaia.

“Valentino has very clear ideas and told me that he will help Pecco in every way possible,” Barros said. Rossi’s support is expected to be crucial as Bagnaia faces the challenge of competing alongside Marquez, a rider known for his disruptive presence.

Barros, who has a deep understanding of the MotoGP dynamics, noted that the arrival of Marquez could significantly alter the balance within Ducati. He pointed out that Bagnaia’s longstanding association with Rossi and the VR46 Academy will play a role in how he manages the situation with Marquez.

 

Despite their public cordiality, Barros suspects that Bagnaia and Marquez are not genuinely friendly, influenced by Rossi’s well-documented feud with Marquez.

The former racer cautioned that any internal conflict between Bagnaia and Marquez could provide an advantage to Ducati’s rivals. “Managing two riders like that is complicated,” Barros said. “In the eyes of the public, it will be fine, but internally it will be tough.

 

” He further suggested that if Bagnaia and Marquez’s relationship deteriorates, teams like Aprilia and KTM could capitalize on the situation, provided their bikes are competitive.
