another star player now set to leave the club being set to sell for Millions

Football Insider has reported that Nottingham Forest’s Serge Aurier is on the verge of signing for a new club in the coming days, with a revived plan to move to Galatasaray. The 31-year-old has until the closing of the Turkish transfer window on February 9 to make the move, despite the English transfer window closing on February 1.

Sources indicate that Aurier’s move to Galatasaray had been in jeopardy, but it is not due to any issues from Nottingham Forest’s end. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly willing to let the right-back leave. A well-placed source has informed Football Insider that the exit is likely to go through in the following week.

The Ivorian international recently captained his national team, Les Elephants, to the quarterfinals of the African Cup of Nations. Despite his involvement in the tournament, Aurier’s move seems imminent. Nottingham Forest, despite losing a key player, is well-supplied at the right-back position with Gonzalo Montiel, Ola Aina, and Neco Williams still on the team.

Aurier, who joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in September 2022, is under contract until June. He has made multiple appearances for the club across all competitions in the 2023-24 season. However, he has yet to play under the new coach, Espirito Santo, as he was recovering from a calf strain until the start of the African Cup of Nations.

Nottingham Forest, currently ranking 16th in the Premier League, made three signings on deadline day, bolstering their squad despite the impending departure of Aurier. The situation highlights the dynamic nature of football transfers and the negotiations that continue beyond the official transfer windows.
