Arrest made in southwest Topeka gunshot homicide death of David Bentley, 45
Topeka police announced late Sunday that they had arrested a man in connection with Thursday evening’s gunshot homicide death in the 2000 block of S.W. Stone of David Bentley, 45, of Topeka.
Colton G. Miller, 27, of Topeka, was arrested in connection with one count each of first-degree murder, distributing a controlled substance, unlawfully acquiring proceeds from a drug transaction and using a communication facility in the commission of a felony drug violation, said police Lt. Officers responded just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday to the 2000 block of S.W. Stone to check the welfare of Bentley, whom they found suffering from a gunshot wound, Eubanks said.
Bentley was pronounced deceased at the scene, she said.
Stone runs north and south and is located two blocks east of S.W. Gage Boulevard.
