Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum gets a powerful message from one of the NBA’s top stars. Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns presented Taytum with a signed jersey with a concise message.
“One of the best. Keep cooking,” Durant wrote.
The Celtics beat the Suns 117-107 on Saturday night. Durant signed Tatum’s jersey after the game. Tatum finished the game with 29 points and 10 rebounds, another impressive performance. He led the Celtics in scoring, while Jaylen Brown had 27 points.
Durant also had 45 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. Durant had to carry the Suns through a good season as Bradley Beal and Devin Booker were sidelined with injuries during the campaign. It sure looks like Durant is doing some cooking as he climbs the NBA career scoring charts.
Tatum and Durant have a lot in common. Both players started this year’s East and West All-Star games. Both players play a key role in their respective teams. The duo lead their teams in scoring. Durant is averaging 28 points per game for the Suns this year, while Tatum is averaging 27 for the Celtics.
Tatum has recently owned Durant in terms of how their teams have been on the floor. Tatum has won seven straight games against Durant.
The Celtics will look to continue that momentum when the team next plays at Portland on Monday. The Suns next play at Cleveland on the same day.
