Carlton injury latest as club provides update on 11 players
Seven Carlton players have been listed as tests ahead of the Blues’ elimination final against Brisbane this weekend.
Coleman Medal-winning pair Charlie Curnow(ankle) and Harry McKay (quad) are among the septet that will need to prove their fitness prior to the weekend, as is ruckman Tom De Koning(foot), who has been sidelined since Round 19.
Quartet Adam Cerra, Mitch McGovern, Zac Williams and Jack Martin round out the list of players needing to pass tests, with the four Blues all dealing with hamstring concern
The lengthy list of Blues in the selection mix adds to the confirmed inclusion of veteran Sam Docherty, who will face Brisbane this weekend – 183 days after suffering an ACL injury in Opening Round.
Meanwhile, defender Jordan Boyd faces an unclear return timeframe as he continues to deal with an adductor issue. The Blues backman has commenced the running stage of his rehabilitation and has a chance to play again in 2024
Key defender Sam Durdin is 2-3 weeks away with a calf injury, while fellow Carlton stopper Caleb Marchbank is not available as he continues to recover from a late-season concussion.
Fringe ruckman Hudson O’Keeffe is sidelined for up to two weeks with a hamstring injury of his own.Carlton will name their side for Saturday’s elimination final on Thursday at 6:20pm (AEST)
