In a stunning display of talent and resilience, Eli Tomac clinched his first ESPY Award in the Best Athlete, Men’s Action Sports category at the 2022 ESPY Awards, held on July 20, 2022. Hosted by ESPN, this annual event celebrates the pinnacle of athletic achievement across various sports.

Tomac expressed his gratitude during his acceptance speech, saying, “I just want to say thank you for voting for me…we won it. Thank you to all the Supercross fans around the world. We had an incredible 2022 season.” He emphasized the importance of teamwork, noting, “None of this would be possible without the support of my family, my team, the crew, and everyone involved.”

His remarkable performance continued in the summer as he took the lead in the 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, edging out Team Honda HRC’s Chase Sexton by just five points. Tomac’s previous accolades include three consecutive Pro Motocross Championships from 2017 to 2019, further solidifying his status as a top-tier athlete.

The 30th edition of the ESPY Awards, hosted by NBA star Stephen Curry, featured fan voting across 35 categories, celebrating the best moments and athletes of the year.
