Davide Tardozzi, Ducati’s team manager blast on Francisco bagnaia comparision to martin that sparks controversies
With just one round remaining in the 2024 MotoGP season, the championship title is poised to go to either Jorge Martín of the Prima Pramac team or Francesco Bagnaia of the Ducati factory squad. Heading into the decisive GP of Barcelona, Martín holds a 24-point lead, putting him in the driver’s seat for his first MotoGP world championship.
Both riders have dominated the season, but their paths to the final round have been very different. Martín’s strength has been his consistency. He has stayed out of trouble, avoided mistakes, and been steady in collecting
Ducati’s team manager, Davide Tardozzi, acknowledged Bagnaia’s raw talent but also pointed out his errors. “Pecco is strong, but he made too many mistakes this year,” Tardozzi said, noting that while Bagnaia’s ten wins are a remarkable achievement, the crashes have cost him dearly.
At the same time, Tardozzi praised Martín for his more calculated approach to the championship. “Jorge has managed the championship better than we did,” Tardozzi remarked, acknowledging the Spaniard’s ability to maintain his focus and limit mistakes in a season full of pressure.
As the final race in Barcelona approaches, Martín has a clear advantage, but Bagnaia is never one to be counted out. If Bagnaia can put together a flawless race, he still has a chance to close the gap and defend his title. For Ducati, it’s a bittersweet situation—either way, the title will stay with the team, but the question remains: will it be Bagnaia or Martín who emerges as the 2024 MotoGP world champion?
