Deegan and Beaumer’s Rivalry Heats Up at A2: A Thrilling Showdown
Haiden Deegan and Christian Beaumer have been on a collision course all season, and their rivalry reached another level at the A2 Supercross. Both riders are hungry for the top spot, with Deegan aiming to bounce back after a slow start to the season and Beaumer looking to maintain his championship lead. The battle that unfolded was nothing short of thrilling, as Deegan secured his first win of the season, while Beaumer showcased resilience to hold onto second despite the pressure.
A Familiar Pattern
The main event saw Beaumer start strong, launching off the line just behind Deegan. The first lap was a mirror image of their battle in the previous race, with Beaumer attempting a move on Deegan in the same turn. However, the pass wasn’t meant to be, as Beaumer didn’t have enough of a run to make it stick. For the next few laps, Beaumer shadowed Deegan, waiting for a mistake or an opportunity to pounce. But as the laps wore on, Deegan steadily built a lead, forcing Beaumer to focus more on defending than attacking.
As the race neared its climax, Beaumer found himself under intense pressure from Jordon Smith, who was running
Deegan’s Redemption
With the win, Deegan made a significant move in the championship points, passing Smith for second place, and closing in on Beaumer, who still holds the lead by seven points. Deegan’s victory marked his first of the 2025 season, and it wasn’t just a win—it was a statement. On the podium, Deegan was full of fire, delivering a message to his rivals. Referring to Beaumer, he said, “You pissed off the bull last week, you know? Juju ran his mouth, so it’s time to lock in and yeah, you don’t want to piss me off because I come out swinging.”
This fiery attitude seemed to fuel his performance, as Deegan revealed that an improved bike setup was a key factor in his success. After struggling with arm pump in the previous round, the adjustments made a massive difference, allowing him to ride with more control and stamina. “The bike setup improved and that eliminated the arm pump that hurt me last week,” Deegan explained.
Beaumer’s Steady Confidence
While Deegan was celebrating his win, Beaumer remained calm and collected. In the aftermath of a race filled with aggressive passes and high tension, Beaumer echoed Deegan’s sentiments about the nature of their racing. “Yeah, same as him. It’s fun—we’re having fun. We’re racing dirt bikes and we’re here to win,” Beaumer said. Despite the heated moments on track, it was clear that both riders respect each other’s drive and the high-stakes nature of Supercross racing.
Beaumer’s comments were a reminder of the competitive nature of the sport, where riders often push each other to the limit. The on-track rivalry is intense, but at its core, it’s about pushing each other to perform at the highest level.
Deegan’s “War Mode” Mentality
When asked about the pressure to win after a rocky start to his season, Deegan was quick to dismiss any doubts. “No pressure, just straight war mode. I’m like dude, I’m blocking everything out. I need to win and that’s what it came down to,” he said. This mentality has clearly been a key factor in his success. Deegan also credited his improvement between rounds to the hard work he’s been putting in with his team, especially in refining his bike setup and focusing on improving his starts.
“I was grinding the starts and grinding the bike setup,” Deegan explained. “I was having to do these races at 70 percent with my arms pumped up, so now I can do it at 70 percent with my oxygen there and everything and arms feeling great.” The result was a performance that allowed him to ride at a pace he could sustain throughout the race, finishing with the confidence that he could go even faster if needed.
Looking Ahead
With Deegan’s victory, the championship is starting to heat up, and the rivalry between him and Beaumer is one to watch throughout the season. As both riders push for the top spot, it’s clear that they’re not only competing against each other but also constantly striving to improve themselves. The competition is fierce, and as Deegan put it, “We’re having some fun, but obviously I want to be first at the end of the race.”
While Deegan took the win at A2, Beaumer’s second-place finish keeps him in the lead for now, but with both riders locked in a battle for the title, the next few rounds are sure to deliver even more drama and excitement. And as Deegan himself said, “We’re just getting started.”
