Ducati Celebrates Francesco Bagnaia’s Victory at Lenovo Race of Champions
Ducati has praised their star rider Francesco Bagnaia following his impressive win at the Lenovo Race of Champions, held at the Misano circuit during World Ducati Week.
Bagnaia, who started from second place, overtook pole sitter Andrea Iannone on the opening lap and managed to hold off his competitor for the entire 10-lap race.
The event, a highlight of Ducati’s annual celebration, also saw some drama with Nicolo Bulega crashing out on the final corner after making contact with
Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali expressed his enthusiasm for the race, highlighting the spectacle and excitement it brought to fans.
“The Lenovo Race of Champions is an incredible spectacle for all motorcycling fans,” said Domenicali. “Personally, I had a lot of fun during the race, and seeing the red crowd of World Ducati Week on the grandstands of the Misano Circuit was a great emotion.”
Domenicali congratulated Bagnaia for showcasing his exceptional talent, as well as Iannone and Marquez for their podium finishes. He also noted the unfortunate absence of Bulega from the podium due to his medical checks following the crash.
Domenicali praised the new Panigale V4, highlighting its performance improvements over the previous model and expressing pride in Ducati’s latest achievement.
Bagnaia himself was thrilled with the event and the crowd’s support. “It was fantastic seeing so many people on the grandstands,” he said. “Even with my helmet on, I could hear the cheering, which was really incredible. The race was great, and I had a lot of fun pushing hard.”
The Lenovo Race of Champions showcased Ducati’s top 15 riders from MotoGP, World Superbikes, and British Superbikes, all competing on the newly unveiled Panigale V4.
Bagnaia’s victory reinforced his status as Ducati’s premier rider and demonstrated the new bike’s prowess.
Looking ahead, Bagnaia will return to the MotoGP circuit next weekend at Silverstone, where he will defend his championship lead.
Currently, he holds a 10-point advantage over Jorge Martin, adding to the anticipation for the upcoming British MotoGP.
