Eli Tomac Confirms 2025 as His Final Season, Reflects on Future Possibilities
In a candid interview, Eli Tomac, one of the most decorated racers in Supercross and Motocross history, has confirmed that the 2025 season will be his last.
Tomac’s decision comes after a storied career filled with numerous titles and unforgettable performances, but also an understanding of the physical and mental demands of the sport.
Interviewer: Will 2025 be your last season?
Eli Tomac: “The 2025 season will be my final season. There is no doubt about it at this point.”
With that clear and decisive statement, Tomac has laid to rest any speculation about his future in competitive racing.
Fans of the sport have long wondered how long the reigning champion would continue, but Tomac’s words make it evident that 2025 will mark the end of his professional racing journey.
Interviewer: Will you consider returning for any special one-off races?
Eli Tomac: “As a racer, I am nervous about being half-committed to something, so maybe I would go do a couple more even after SuperMotocross, say like a Paris or a couple of World Supercross rounds, maybe something like that. But my plan as of now is to be done after 2025.
It is too tough, too dangerous, and you must be all in, in my opinion, with this sport. As I said, it is one of those things where you must be committed. If there is any doubt in your mind and you are half into it, you are for sure going to get beat. It is borderline dangerous because your mind is elsewhere.”
Tomac’s words reflect the reality of being a top-tier competitor in a sport as demanding as motocross. The physical risks are ever-present, and Tomac acknowledges that any wavering in commitment could lead to serious consequences.
His approach to racing has always been one of complete dedication, and he recognizes that anything less could be perilous.
While Tomac doesn’t completely rule out the possibility of participating in select events post-2025, his priority is clear—when he steps away, it will be on his terms, fully aware of the demands and risks involved.
For now, the focus remains on closing out his career with the same intensity and commitment that has defined his time in the sport.
