Frustrated Pecco Bagnaia Reflects on Misano Race After Losing to Jorge Martín

Pecco Bagnaia, fresh off securing pole position with a record lap time, couldn’t hide his frustration after being outdone by Jorge Martín on the very first lap of the MotoGP race at Misano.

Despite his efforts, the Ducati Lenovo rider found himself unable to reclaim the lead, which left him visibly disappointed in parc ferme.

Speaking to the media, Bagnaia expressed his dissatisfaction with the result: “I’m not happy, absolutely.

I tried, but Jorge was locking deep. After the start, it was a disaster, and I lost the first position. From that moment on, it was very difficult.”

Bagnaia, who had come into the race with high hopes, was visibly frustrated by the ongoing issues with his starts, an area he continues to struggle with. Despite these difficulties, he acknowledged that finishing second, given the challenges he faced, was still a positive outcome.

“In any case, the second position after what happened last week is okay,” Bagnaia noted, referencing his previous race struggles.

“Let’s work to get a better start, because it was a disaster, and we’re going to try to improve tomorrow.”

As the MotoGP season heats up, Bagnaia will be looking to address his starting issues and capitalize on his speed to maintain his position in the championship battle.

However, the race at Misano served as a stark reminder that even with a record-setting pole lap, challenges on the track can arise at any moment.
