‘General Hospital’ Star Steve Burton Marries Chef Michelle Lundstrom in Heartfelt Oceanfront Ceremony

Love was certainly in the air on Saturday, May 17, 2025, as General Hospital star Steve Burton tied the knot with chef Michelle Lundstrom in a deeply personal and joy-filled celebration. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate Orthodox church ceremony attended by close family, followed by a romantic reception with 45 guests at the stunning Montage Laguna Beach resort in California.

The 54-year-old actor, best known for his long-running role as Jason Morgan on General Hospital, beamed with joy as he spoke to People magazine about the milestone moment. “This day isn’t just about a ceremony. It’s the beginning of forever with the love of my life,” he shared, clearly overcome with emotion.

The wedding was a true family affair. Steve’s children from his previous marriage—Makena, 21, Jack, 19, and Brooklyn, 10—played integral roles in the ceremony, standing alongside Michelle’s daughters, Lilah, 14, and 10-year-old Hannah, who were just as excited to be part of the big day. Michelle, 44, revealed that her daughters were instrumental in helping her choose the perfect gown. She ultimately said “yes” to a custom strapless dress by Lee Petra Grebenau.

“When I tried on my dress I knew it was the one,” Michelle recalled. “I came out to show my girls and they both said, ‘That’s the one, Mom!’ We all knew. It was beyond special. The girls were so excited to wear matching dresses.”

Steve, who proposed in January after just under a year of dating, shared how meaningful it was to have his only son, Jack, as one of his groomsmen. His best friend, Jeremy Ross, served as his best man. “It meant the world to me,” Steve said, reflecting on the support and love surrounding them.

The couple’s love story began in a thoroughly modern way—on social media. Their bond quickly blossomed over a shared love of 80s music and movies, a theme that carried into the wedding. During cocktail hour and the reception, their pianist and DJ played romantic tunes from the decade that brought them together. For their first dance, they chose Forest Blakk’s 2023 hit “I Choose You”, a fitting anthem for a couple embracing a new beginning.

For Steve, this marriage represents not only a new chapter but a new lease on life. “I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, growing together each day in faith and love,” he said. “Honestly, I’ve never felt so loved and cared for in my entire life. I’m incredibly grateful to have her by my side. She is the most amazing, beautiful, and selfless woman I’ve ever known. I love her so much.”

Michelle echoed the sentiment, radiating happiness. “Gosh, he’s proven that fairy tale love truly exists. He’s like pure sunshine—always uplifting, endlessly caring. His love makes me a better person every single day. To have the most incredible man I’ve ever known by my side forever brings me so much peace and happiness. He is the love of my life, and I feel so blessed to call him mine.”

The wedding comes nearly three years after Steve’s public split from his first wife, Sheree Gustin, after more than two decades of marriage. The former couple parted ways in 2022 following news that Sheree was expecting a child with another man.

But on this sun-drenched May day in Laguna Beach, surrounded by their children, closest friends, and the gentle crash of the Pacific waves, Steve and Michelle began their happily ever after—proving that love, indeed, finds its way back.
