Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf are two of the most iconic figures in tennis history, boasting a combined 30 Grand Slam titles and a love story that has captivated fans for decades. Yet, despite their immense fame and accomplishments, there are two people who remain largely unfazed by their legendary status: their children, Jaden Gil Agassi, 22, and Jaz Elle Agassi, 20.

In a recent interview with *People*, Agassi shared that their children have never quite been overwhelmed by their parents’ fame. “I can imagine how somebody looks at that from the outside,” Agassi reflected. “Somehow there’s going to be this moment where they go, ‘These are my parents.'” But, as Agassi humorously pointed out, that moment never really came.

Growing up, Jaden and Jaz were perplexed by the attention their parents received in public. “When people are coming up to us in grocery stores, [Jaden and Jaz] were like, ‘What’s up with these people?'” Agassi explained. “So you go through a whole phase of them going, ‘Well, this makes no sense that the people are coming up as if there’s a big deal.’ And then they start to put together why it’s a big deal.”

However, this early exposure to the reality of fame had an unexpected benefit. According to Agassi, it allowed their children to see beyond the glitz and glamour, realizing that the lifestyle of the rich and famous “isn’t all that.” He believes that this perspective has helped them maintain a healthy balance in their lives, grounded in reality rather than the illusion of celebrity.

The love story between Agassi and Graf began in 1992, during the peak of their tennis careers. Agassi, who had long admired Graf from afar, was eager to meet her after both won their respective Wimbledon titles that year.

 

He even went as far as to purchase a tuxedo in anticipation of dancing with her at the traditional Wimbledon Champions’ Ball. However, the dance was canceled, and their paths didn’t cross romantically until several years later.

It wasn’t until 1999, after both had experienced significant changes in their personal lives, that Agassi and Graf reconnected. Their bond quickly deepened, and by

September of that year, they had become an official couple. They married on October 22, 2001, in a quiet ceremony at their Las Vegas home, just four days before welcoming their first child, Jaden. Two years later, their daughter Jaz was born, completing their family.

Since retiring from professional tennis, Agassi and Graf have dedicated themselves to their family and various philanthropic efforts. They continue to live a relatively private life, focusing on raising their children and giving back through their respective foundations.
