Jonas Brothers & Demi Lovato Reunite for Nostalgic Camp Rock Medley

It felt like 2008 all over again as the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato turned back the clock to their Camp Rock days during a surprise performance at the opening show of the JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour. The event took place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on August 11 (PH Time), sending fans into a frenzy of nostalgia and speculation.

Lovato joined Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas on stage to perform a heartfelt medley of songs from the two Camp Rock films, including fan favourites Gotta Find You, This Is Me, and Wouldn’t Change a Thing. The reunion marked their first professional performance together since Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010, nearly 17 years after the first movie’s Disney Channel debut.

Earlier in the day, fans reported hearing Lovato’s voice during soundcheck, sparking whispers of a special collaboration. When she appeared, the stadium erupted, with many concertgoers capturing emotional reactions as the familiar harmonies filled the air. Joe Jonas later posted a backstage TikTok with Lovato, where the pair lip-synced Wouldn’t Change a Thing, giving fans an extra dose of throwback magic.

The special moment has reignited rumours about a possible Camp Rock 3. Although no official announcement has been made, Lovato’s recent decision to re-follow the Jonas Brothers on Instagram has only added to the speculation.

The opening night was part of the Jonas Brothers’ 20th anniversary North American tour, which will span 52 shows through November. They’re joined by Marshmello, Boys Like Girls, and The All-American Rejects as opening acts. The milestone tour coincides with the release of the band’s seventh studio album, Greetings from Your Hometown. Meanwhile, Lovato is preparing to drop her ninth studio album, featuring her latest single, Fast.

For many fans, Camp Rock remains a cultural touchstone. The 2008 Disney Channel Original Movie followed Lovato’s character Mitchie, a teen working in the camp kitchen to attend a prestigious music program. Joe Jonas played Shane Gray, a reluctant pop star who helps Mitchie find her voice. The film’s success not only launched the careers of Lovato and the Jonas Brothers but also produced a chart-topping soundtrack and a 2010 sequel.

Whether or not Camp Rock 3 ever materialises, one thing is certain: the magic of 2008 is alive and well — and for one night in New Jersey, fans got to live it all over again.
