Just In: Minnesota Timberwolves found Michael Jordan’s match
For some, Anthony Edwards is slowly becoming the second coming of Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan in the NBA. After helping the Minnesota Timberwolves win Game 4 against the Dallas Mavericks, the message he dropped will surely convince more that he’s the heir to His Airness.
Just recently, the Timberwolves went home with 105-100 win over Luka Doncic and the Mavs , preventing them from getting swept in the process. Anthony Edwards finished the game with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists to lead Minnesota. Karl-Anthony Towns redeemed himself by dropping 25 points on 80 percent shooting from beyond the perimeter Rudy Gobert added 13 points and 10 rebounds in almost 40 minutes on the court.
For his part, Doncic posted 28 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead the Mavericks. Kyrie Irving contributed 16 points, while Daniel Gafford added 12 points and eight rebounds. Jaden Hardy came off the bench to tally 13 points on 62 percent shooting from the field.
The win helped prevent the Wolves from getting swept and suffering the same fate Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers suffered at the hands of the Boston Celtics. As a result, their series against Dallas has been extended, and will now go back to Minnesota’s home court.
After the game, Edwards faced reporters to give his take on Game 4. In a video shared by NBA on TNT’s official X account, the All-Star shooting guard a message worthy of Jordan.
Throughout 79 games this season , Edwards took his game to another level by averaging 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest. He has played better during the playoffs by notching 27.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game against the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns.
Even though the odds are against the Wolves, it might be hard to bet against Edwards, especially if he’s this motivated. For sure, the Minnesota star will play harder in the coming days to extend their season against the Mavericks. Otherwise, they’d have to wait for another full season before they get a chance to make it to the NBA Finals.
