Marco Bezzecchi drops angry and crazy statement on Controversial MotoGP Aragon GP Incident Involving Álex Márquez and Francesco Bagnaia
The MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix was marred by a controversial incident involving Álex Márquez (Gresini/Ducati) and Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), leading to a heated debate within the paddock.
The collision, which occurred with six laps remaining as the two riders battled for third place, has sparked differing opinions among riders and fans alike.
Marco Bezzecchi, who rides for Pertamina Enduro VR46, did not hold back in expressing his view on the incident. He suggested that Márquez could have been more cautious when rejoining the racing line after running wide.
“I think it’s clear for everyone who rode the bike at least once that when you make a mistake and you go wide, almost off
He emphasized that riders have multiple ways to be aware of others on the track, including the pit board, and that Márquez should have been more mindful of Bagnaia’s presence.
Bezzecchi’s criticism centered on the notion that Márquez should have seen Bagnaia before making his move. “It’s impossible that Álex didn’t see [Bagnaia]; either he is blind, or he didn’t want to see for me,” Bezzecchi remarked. He argued that Márquez should have eased off the throttle, given that he was behind Bagnaia by more than half a bike length.
Despite his firm stance, Bezzecchi acknowledged the complexity of the situation. “Of course, it’s a strange situation, you have to find yourself inside to really understand every part of the situation, so I can’t be inside of either of these two guys,” he admitted.
Bezzecchi also referenced a similar incident involving Joe Roberts and Celestino Vietti, where Roberts received a Long Lap penalty, suggesting that the rider behind typically bears more responsibility in such scenarios.
The incident has left the MotoGP community divided, with some agreeing with Bezzecchi’s assessment, while others argue that both riders share the blame. As the championship battle intensifies, incidents like these underscore the fine margins and high stakes that define the sport.
With just a few races remaining, the aftermath of this collision could have significant implications for the title race, particularly as tensions rise on and off the track.
