T.J. McConnell is one of the most important players for the Pacers
It’s crazy that McConnell started the season as a DNP-CD. He is way too valuable of a player to be in that scenario. I’m glad that Rick Carlisle came to his senses and put McConnell back as the leader of the second unit after a month of being in purgatory on the bench.
Looking ahead to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Celtics, McConnell is going to be pivotal. He is the most important bench player for either team in the series. If Indiana is going to win the series, the bench is going to have to be great. McConnell will be leading that unit.
It’s cool to see that other players recognize his value around the league. McConnell is having the best season of his career and he’s 32 years old. His ability to create his own shot in the paint creates massive issues for every other team. The Pacers are lucky to still have him. They should guarantee his contract next year too.
