Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson announced Wednesday that he underwent surgery for an injury suffered early last season.
Watson, a second-year cornerback from Washington. State tweeted that he tore his labrum in Week 2 but decided to play through the pain.
Nearly a month after the Chiefs won back-to-back Super Bowls, Watson shared news of his injury on Twitter.
“The surgery was a success, wrote Watson. “Torn my labrum in week 2! He was given the choice of surgery or trying to play the rest of the season 5 months later as a 2x Super Bowl Champion!!
“Lots of discomfort and pain this year but worth every moment (roller coasters emoji).”
