Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital Unveils Tony Stewart Intermediate Care Unit as he donates $2,250,000 to them
Novant Health is taking pediatric care in Charlotte to the next level with the upcoming opening of the *Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital Tony Stewart Intermediate Care Unit*, a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide specialized care to children in need. This innovative six-bed unit, made possible by a generous donation from championship-winning race car driver Tony Stewart, will bridge the critical gap between intensive and general care, ensuring that more children receive the support they need in a family-friendly and healing environment.

The new intermediate care unit is expected to serve approximately 2,100 additional children each year, offering expert care for those who require more attention than general care units can provide but do not need the intensive care offered in a neonatal or pediatric intensive care unit (NICU/PICU).
