**Francesco Bagnaia Eyes 2024 MotoGP Title Defense After Lenovo Race of Champions Win**
As the 2024 MotoGP season resumes, reigning double-world champion Francesco Bagnaia is refocusing on his title defense following a triumphant performance at the Lenovo Race of Champions during World Ducati Week.

Starting the second half of the season with a ten-point lead over Jorge Martin, Bagnaia has maintained a strong position after a dominant performance in the previous Grand Prix at Sachsenring, where he clinched his fourth consecutive victory.
This success came just before the summer break, which Bagnaia utilized not only for rest but also for personal milestones, including his recent marriage.
“We had a bit of an early vacation compared to other riders,” Bagnaia remarked, reflecting on his time off. “Last week in Misano, the World Ducati Week allowed us to test the new Panigale V4 S and reconnect with fans globally. But now it’s time to get back to the serious business.”
Bagnaia’s focus shifts to the upcoming races, starting with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Despite finishing a close second at last year’s race, where he was overtaken by Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro on the final lap, Bagnaia is confident and prepared for the challenges ahead.
“I’m excited to pick up where we left off. This second half of the season will be intense, and I’m ready to dive back in,” he said.
Teammate Enea Bastianini, who faced a challenging start to last season with an early fall, is also poised for a strong comeback. Currently within 11 points of third-place Marc Marquez, who will take Bastianini’s seat for the 2025 season, the Italian rider is keen to capitalize on his growing momentum.
“The break was essential, but I’m eager to return to action. The next races will be demanding, but I’m looking forward to racing on tracks where I perform well,” Bastianini said.
Bastianini will also debut the special livery celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the MotoGP Championship at Silverstone, a highlight that will be unveiled this Thursday. As the season intensifies, both Bagnaia and Bastianini are set to deliver their best performances in a bid for championship glory.
With the second half of the season upon us, all eyes will be on how the Ducati team and their competitors tackle the challenges of the upcoming races.
