Radiohead Allegedly Set to Tour for the First Time in Seven Years
For the first time in seven years, Radiohead may be gearing up for a major tour, according to recent rumors and speculative reports. The iconic British band, whose experimental sound and groundbreaking albums have solidified their place as one of the most influential acts in modern rock, have been the subject of increasing buzz about potential live shows in 2025.
As reported by Resident Advisor, a source close to the band has revealed that Radiohead has “placed holds in select European cities” for a proposed series of concerts set for this autumn. This would mark their first tour since 2018, when they embarked on a global run in support of their album A Moon Shaped Pool.
Charity Auction Fuels Tour Speculation
The latest rumors around a possible Radiohead tour began circulating after the band’s management donated tickets for a “Radiohead concert of your choice” to a charity auction benefiting those affected by the recent Los Angeles wildfires. The auction, which was organized by Palisades High School, offered the winning bidder the unique opportunity to choose the city and date of a Radiohead performance, subject to the band’s tour schedule.
However, the auction listing has since been modified. The original wording, which clearly implied the possibility of an upcoming tour, now lists “Four Premier Concert Tickets” for several major artists, with bids reset. Despite the listing’s changes, the early connection to Radiohead’s future plans has left fans hopeful that the band is indeed preparing for a live return.
New LLP Formation Sparks Further Rumors
Adding fuel to the fire, Radiohead members made an intriguing business move earlier this month. On March 10, they officially formed a new Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) called RHEUK25. As Pitchfork points out, this move is historically a strong indicator of upcoming tour plans, with the last time an LLP was formed being ahead of their 2018 tour. Given that Radiohead has remained quiet about the nature of this new venture, it has only deepened fans’ suspicions that live shows are on the horizon.
The Band’s Silence on the Matter
Despite growing speculation and fan excitement, Radiohead has remained characteristically tight-lipped about the potential tour. In typical Radiohead fashion, the band appears uninterested in feeding into the growing frenzy around their future plans. In late 2024, frontman Thom Yorke, who recently toured with The Smile alongside Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, addressed speculation with characteristic nonchalance.
When asked about potential Radiohead activity during an interview with Double J, Yorke made it clear that he wasn’t concerned about fans’ expectations. “I really don’t give a fuck,” he said. “No offence to anyone and err, thanks for caring. But I think we’ve earned the right to do what makes sense to us without having to explain ourselves or be answerable to anyone else’s historical idea of what we should be doing.”
Yorke’s dismissive stance on the matter has only added to the mystery, with the band’s fans eagerly awaiting any official announcement.
The Smile’s European Tour Cancellation
While Radiohead has been silent on their own plans, the band’s members have been active in other projects. Last year, Yorke and Greenwood toured with their side project, The Smile, which was forced to cancel its European tour after Greenwood fell seriously ill and required a stay in intensive care. Thankfully, Greenwood recovered and was discharged shortly afterward, but the incident prompted questions about the band’s future touring plans and whether Radiohead might eventually follow suit.
What’s Next for Radiohead?
As speculation continues to mount, the possibility of Radiohead returning to the stage remains tantalizing but uncertain. Fans are hoping that the band’s silence will soon give way to an official announcement, and perhaps even the release of new material to accompany the tour.
If Radiohead does indeed return to the road in 2025, it will be their first tour since 2018, a gap that has only added to the anticipation surrounding any possible performances. For now, though, the band’s fans will have to wait and see whether these rumors materialize into an official tour — or if Yorke and company will continue to keep their next move under wraps.
