**Marc Marquez Sets Sights on Title Charge as MotoGP Resumes at Silverstone**
As the MotoGP season heads into its second half, Marc Marquez is ready to intensify his push for the championship.
Fresh off a podium finish at the German MotoGP in Sachsenring, Marquez is determined to close the gap on Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin, who currently lead the riders’ standings.
The British Grand Prix at Silverstone marks a pivotal
“In the second half of the season, the project is a bit clearer than the first part,” Marquez told TNT Sports. “We need to keep working to see if we can get closer to them and we’ll try to be at that podium or in the top five positions every race.”
Marquez, currently with Ducati’s Gresini Racing team, is set to join the factory Ducati team next season.
He acknowledges that his current bike will be on par with other Ducati machines, as there are no planned updates.
“If I receive something, then all the 2023 bikes will receive it,” he said. “That’s Ducati’s decision, but I will try my best and this is the most important thing.”
Despite this, Marquez remains optimistic, buoyed by his recent performance in Sachsenring and his time spent on the factory Ducati during World Ducati Week in Misano.
“I had a big party with my brother Alex, spent time with friends and my girlfriend in Menorca, and also had some practice on the factory bike,” he noted.
“It was important because I had a rib and finger injury at Sachsenring. The practice was okay and let’s see if it can help a bit.”
As the MotoGP circus descends on Silverstone, Marquez will be looking to leverage his recent form and experience to mount a serious challenge for the championship, making the second half of the season one to watch closely.
