A packed snooker calendar shows no sign of slowing down as we roll straight from the Welsh Open to the Players Championship.
The tournament has been quite nomadic since its current form in 2017, coming to Telford for the first time this year.
Other big names will also miss out, such as Neil Robertson, Kyren Wilson and world champion Luca Brecel, who have campaigned so far.
However, it is still a fantastic field, with the best players of the season so far, Judd Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan, as pioneers.
The opening round features standout contests with Ding Junhui vs. John Higgins and Mark Williams vs. Mark Allen featuring in the last 16.
