What Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has just told Bayern Munich after being offered lucrative job
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has rejected an offer from 32-time Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and has said he’s happy with life in south London, LondonWorld has been told. Glasner who is very familiar with the Bundesliga could have been the perfect fit for Bayern, as the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt has a strong understanding of the German League and also shares a close relationship with Bayern’s Sporting Christoph Freund.
But instead, he’s chosen to stay in the Premier League, and build a team at Crystal Palace after getting his ideas across within a short period of team and now aiming to finish the season strongly. He is the latest to turn down the chance to manage the Bundesliga club with their attention now turned to former manager Hansi Flick, who was previously ignored when the job was first made vacant. The Bundesliga giants confirmed Thomas Tuchel would leave the club after they failed to win the league title and even though they slightly improved and came close to reaching the Champions League final, it has now been agreed that a split was in the best interest of the former Chelsea manager and the club.
In what has been an impressive start to life in the Premier League only Manchester City and Arsenal both with nine wins have won more league games than Crystal Palace who have won six times already under the Europa League-winning manager at Eintracht Frankfurt.Speaking after the 3-1 away win at Wolves this weekend Palace boss praised his team but urged that they needed to keep it going. He said: “Great team performance and we showed so much intelligence but we need to keep that going and working hard.” They will now face Champions League-chasing Aston Villa in the final game of the season at Selhurst Park knowing that a win could see them equal their best-ever points tally of 49 in a Premier League season.
