what Former NFL GM Says about Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2023 NFL season may have come to an abrupt end when they were unexpectedly eliminated from the playoffs by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles were a complete wreck on both sides of the ball for almost two months, seeming to be a shell of the NFC champion squad from the previous year.

Philadelphia’s defence had no answer for Tampa Bay’s run or pass games, and the team’s offence was lifeless.

Now, team owner Jeffrey Lurie and general manager Howie Roseman must decide what to do with head coach Nick Sirianni.

In the absence of coordinators such as Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon, Sirianni was exposed in almost every aspect of the game and may be headed for elimination.

Former Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said that the Eagles are likely debating whether or not to keep Sirianni or chase after an established option like Bill Belichick via Up & Adams.

“I still think that’s something that they’re having really intense conversations in that building about,” Dimitroff said.

A head coach like Belichick seldom becomes available, thus Philadelphia might determine that Sirianni should be fired in order to retain him.

Even though Belichick’s time with the New England Patriots ended quite poorly, if he were to join the Eagles, he would still instantly gain reputation.

Although Sirianni will have an opportunity to argue his case to maintain his position, Roseman and Lurie must find it quite alluring to hire someone with Belichick’s qualifications.
